Will you be a Layaway Angel? – Pay Away the Layaway

Seasons Greetings to all,

The Layaway Angels program is one of our favorite!  To find out more; read on…..

This is a great way to spread some Holiday Cheer!

Kendra-Wilkinson-helping

Their mission is to inspire hope and spread kindness by helping families pay off layaway balances of gifts, school supplies, toys, books, games and clothes for KIDS.

Ndamukong-Suh-Layaway-Event

How it Works:
*Layaway is a way to purchase an item without paying the entire cost at once.

*Many retailers offer layaway programs for families during the year, including Kmart, Burlington, Walmart, Navy Exchange, Toys R Us, and Babies R Us.

*Thousands of families across the country purchase children’s gifts and other essentials on layaway. Once paid, the family is able to take home their purchased items.

*Thanks to donations made on our website, Pay Away the Layaway is able to visit stores across the country and surprises families by paying off their remaining layaway balance.

Watch deserving families and teachers get heartwarming surprisesIt’s back-to-school time, and TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager teams up with two nonprofits – Pay Away the Layaway and Adopt-A-Classroom – to give some deserving (but unsuspecting) families and teachers some big surprises. A teacher given new classroom supplies sheds happy tears of gratitude. More on this story here.

Choice of School: In most districts attendance zones determine where students will attend school. GISD employs a “Choice of School” program, allowing parents to select the campus they want their children to attend for the next school year.

AVID: AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. The goal of AVID is to prepare students for college and success in a global society. We use AVID to bring out the best in students and close the achievement gap. For more information about the program visit www.avid.org. In middle and high schools, AVID is offered as an elective class, although students will experience AVID strategies in other classrooms. In elementary schools, AVID is not offered as an elective. Students in an AVID elementary school will automatically use different AVID strategies to help them learn and prepare for college and career. AVID elementary schools use AVID strategies in a way that affects the entire school.
